Human Elastin-Like Polypeptides (HELPs) - a\ud novel thermoresponsive material for cell culture\ud applications

Elastin-like polypeptides (ELPs) have a distinct thermal behaviour,\udknown as inverse temperature phase transition. Below a critical temperature\udthe polypeptides are present as aqueous solution, above this\udtemperature they aggregate. Their smart properties make them attractive\udfor the development of biomaterials to support cells in tissue engineering\ud(TE).
